Thanks to the generosity of the Allegan County Math & Science Center, the Black River Watershed Project has recently received a stream survey kit. This kit will be rented free of charge to teachers, home school groups, scout groups, environmental clubs, or anyone interested in performing stream surveys to monitor the health of the Black River Watershed. The kits will be designed for monitoring aquatic macroinvertebrates (like insect larvae, snails, or crayfish) and includes equipment that will enable you to measure stream width, depth, temperature and veolocity.
