The Kal-Haven’s Horse Trail is a separate trail that runs parallel to the bike trail. This trail had storm dammage removed to reopen it for horses.

Location:
The horse trail runs between 68th Street at the 3-mile marker to 52 ½ Street at the11.2 mile marker. The horse trail crosses the bike trail in a number of locations so it runs on both sides of the main trail. It is shown on the maps as running all the way to Bloomingdale but that is not the case. The original trail was proposed to run into Bloomingdale but it was never actually completed.

Terrain:
The Horse trail like the main trail runs through the woods as well as open farm land, dense brush and light woods. It’s not a level trail like the main trail and this makes for a nice challenging ride. The width of the trail will vary from about 10 feet to 18 feet.

Horse Trailer Parking:
At CR 687 & the Kal-Haven Trail there is an area large enough to accommodate horse trailers, and hitching posts are also provided there and along the trail at the rest areas.
The Horse Trail runs through the woods & through open farm land. Top
