• Passport Application - May be obtained from the County Clerk's Office
• Proof of US citizenship in the form of a certified birth certificate, previous U.S. passport issued to applicant after age 16 or naturalization certificate
• Proof of Identity (Photo ID) - Includes a valid drivers' license, a government or military ID
• 2 identical passport photos (See photo information below)
• Appropriate Fees (See fees listed below)
• Previous marriage information, previous spouse's name, place of birth, date of marriage, date divorced or widowed
• If a valid passport has been lost or stolen, an additional form will need to be completed pertaining to that passport. This form can be obtained at the County Clerk's Office.

• Provide proper documentation of any legal names used, i.e. certified copies of court orders for name change or adoption. (A name change as a result of a marriage or divorce does not apply.)

• $100.00 check or money order payable to the Van Buren County Clerk

• $85.00 check or money order payable to the Van Buren County Clerk

• May be taken at the County Clerks Office for $10
• Or bring 2 identical passport quality photos at the time you apply

• Passport processing time is approximatly 4 weeks. No additional fee is required.

• To expedite the passport processing time an additional fee of $60.00 per application is required. An expedited passport will arrive in approximately 2 - 3 weeks.
• An additional $31.35 is required for overnight and return postage.

• Can I submit my most recent US Passport?
• Was I at least 16 when my most recent US Passport was issued?
• Was my most recent US Passport issued less than 15 years ago?
• Do I use the same name as on my most recent US Passport?
• OR, have I had my name changed by marriage or court order and can I submit proper documentation to reflect my name change?

• Renewal Application - May be obtained from the County Clerk's Office

• Most recent passport that was issued less than 15 years ago
• Certified marriage license or certified court order of name change, if applicable.
• Check for $75 payable to the US Department of State (If requesting expedite service, send a total of $135)
• 2 identical passport photos (see photo information above)
• Mail to address listed on application

• These cards will carry the rights and privileges of the U.S. passport book and will be adjudicated to the exact same standards.
• Passport cards can be used for travel to and from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda by land or sea. It may not be used to travel by air.
• Cards will be valid for 10 years for adults and 5 years for children 15 years of age or younger.

• $45 check or money order payable to the Van Buren County Clerk

• $35 check or money order payable to the Van Buren County Clerk

• $20 check or money order made payable to US Department of State
