trailspotters@gmail.comNEW SHUTTLE AND CARSPOTTING SERVICE TO OPERATE ON THE KAL-HAVEN TRAIL
The 2 Valley Shuttle Service, an affiliate of Trailspotters of Michigan, will operate a shuttle service daily June 18-Labor Day primarily serving bicyclists traveling between Kalamazoo and South Haven. This service will make mulitple runs between the two locations along with stopping at several trailheads.
“With the high price of gas, it makes sense to leave the extra car at home and use a shuttle service. Not only can it save gas, you’ll gain more time to ride as you don‘t have to double back” says Thomas Funke, CEO of Trailspotters.
A grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting will take place at the G Avenue Trailhead on Saturday, June 18th, at 10:00 a.m. First shuttle for South Haven will leave at 10:45 a.m.
The shuttle will use an online reservation system and although not required, having a reservation is strongly recommended. Make a reservation and see the schedule atwww.trailspotters.com. The shuttle reserves the right not to run on days with no reservations.
The shuttle can also serve outdoor users such as canoeists and hikers in southwest Michigan. They are also able to accommodate group outings in the off season. The Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Black River and their tributaries are in the service area, as well as part of the North Country Trail.
A shuttle ride between South Haven and Kalamazoo starts at $20. Walk-ups are welcome space permitting. The shuttle can pick up bicyclists at select South Haven hotels for an additional fee.
